About:
Raymond Bolton is an award-winning master stylist and master colorist who has practiced his craft, in this country and abroad, for more than 30 years. He owned and operated his own salon in Tiburon, California from 1980 until early 2004 when he relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
His initial training was under Walter Zipusch, the Viennese master, European Champion and 1968-69 World Hairstyling Champion.
Subsequently, he studied haircutting in London at Vidal Sassoon’s Advanced School and under John Jenkins, stylist for British Vogue magazine. In Vienna, Austria he studied with Wilhelm Hüllerbrand, the 1970-71 World Hairstyling Champion.
He was trained in corrective hair color at L’Oréal, London and obtained additional color training under the late George Fischer, national color educator for Mastey and Clairol.
He has served as judge at major hairstyling competitions, was awarded for Best Haircutting Demonstration by the Long Beach Hairdressers’ Guild, was twice named Top Stylist by the Institute of Trichology and was presented with the Master of the Craft award by Art & Fashion Group International, an association comprised of many of the nation’s top stylists.
